For my relief tile I started with a slab and then used my carver to carve into it. I used express as a studio habit with the different objects I carved and added on to express more about who I am. I started with the lake background with the treeline because the lake is my happy place. I put a paddle board on the lake because I could lay on the paddle board all day long. I also added a tennis net with the racket and ball because tennis is my favorite sport and the courts are a happy place for me. I also decided to add a softball and hockey sticks because softball and hockey have always played a big part in my life. I used envision as another studio habit because I had to picture what I wanted my tile to look like and where to add on and where to carve into. I then cut out my "M" and carved vines into it because I really like plants but I can not take care of them to save my life. I used underglaze for all of the colors and put a clear coat to lock it all in. For the "M" I used a glaze marbling technique with shaving cream and I think the final piece turned out very good.

While creating my coil vessel I used engage and persist to keep building up the coils. I wanted to stop because it took a long time to roll out all the coils and braid them when they were falling apart. I am really happy that I kept on building it up because I like how the final piece turned out. I used envision the most to figure out what coils I wanted to put where and if I wanted to braid them or do a different design. I had to figure out when good times were to smooth out the inside so it wouldn't be as difficult at the end. I glazed the inside with opaque white and on the outside from top to bottom the glazes are mosaic blue, light blue, and blue caprice.
